Rick Durkee, Founder and President of The Coastal Financial Planning Group, has served in leadership roles in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. Rick holds a bachelor's degree in business management/marketing from The University of South Carolina. He has held a Series 65 license for 3 years and is licensed in South Carolina life, accident, health and disability insurance. He has also held Series 6, and 63 securities licenses.

Frank Hutto, CFP®
Retirement Planning Associate
Certified Financial Planner

With four decades of financial services experience, including investment management, financial and retirement planning, tax representation, insurance, and banking, Certified Financial Planner Frank Hutto holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Charleston Southern University and is a graduate of the South Carolina Bankers School. He has held a Series 65 license for more than a decade, and is licensed in South Carolina life, accident, health and disability insurance. He has also held Series 6, 7, and 63 securities licenses.

At The Coastal Financial Planning Group, Frank assists in developing retirement plans for our clients, including discussing their financial goals and researching appropriate investment vehicles. He also serves as our primary liaison with our investment management partner and insurance companies.
 

Darryl Fyall
Financial Advisor
Legacy and Insurance Planning Specialist

Darryl Fyall is a Financial Advisor, Legacy Planning Specialist, and Insurance Specialist at Coastal Financial Planning Group. He joined the firm in June of 2015.

Darryl has been in the financial services industry for almost 25 years. Prior to that, he served in the US Navy after high school. In 1991, he started as a broker's assistant in Atlanta, GA. In 1994, he passed the general securities exams (Series 7 and 63) and became a Registered Representative (RR). As an RR, Darryl focused on recommending individual stocks and options to clients. In 1998, he passed the general principal exam (Series 24), became a Registered Principal, and assumed leadership roles.

In 1999, Darryl moved back to his native home, Charleston, SC, and completed his Bachelors of Science Degree in Economics at the College of Charleston. Rick Durkee, founder of Coastal Financial Planning Group, hired Darryl to MetLife in 2001. At MetLife, Darryl focused on assisting clients with their insurance and retirement planning needs.

At The Coastal Financial Planning Group, Darryl focuses on reducing unnecessary risks and taxes for our clients, to ensure that their legacy will be passed in the most leveraged and efficient manner.




 

Kate Flinton
Client Services Manager

Kate Flinton, Client Services Manager of the Coastal Financial Planning Group, has been in the financial services industry for more than 15 years. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in Finance at Siena College, in Loudonville, NY, she spent some time on Wall Street, working for Fidelity Investments. When she left New York, she moved to Baltimore, MD where she held the position of Director of Investment Operations for a boutique financial planning firm. There, she maintained her Series 7 Securities license.

After a brief hiatus to have her children, Kate returned to work in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, where she worked for Royal Bank of Canada Wealth Management, in International Banking and Private Wealth Management. Upon her return to the US, she worked in the insurance industry and currently holds her South Carolina life, accident, health and disability insurance license. She is currently studying to obtain her Series 65 license.

At The Coastal Financial Planning Group, Kate is responsible for all Client Services, ranging from case administration services to client appreciation, data management and reporting.
